Welcome to the school counseling page at Sewanee/Cowan Elementary!! This is my third year here in Franklin County and I am excited for a great school year!  I am a graduate of the University of Georgia where I received my BSED in middle grades education and a graduate of the University of West Alabama where I received my M.Ed in school counseling.

I will be visiting classrooms, PreK-5th grade, every week to teach social and emotional lessons.  All guidance lessons are based on the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model where the focus will be on academic, career, and personal/social development of all students.

I will have small groups throughout the year addressing different and specific concerns that students may have that are in common with other students. The first small group topic will be Friendship/Social Skills.  The small groups will meet every other Friday for a total of four sessions.  I will see students on an individual basis for brief, 6-8 week, temporary counseling sessions.

*Parental permission is required for small group and individual participation.

I look forward to helping the students, teachers, parents, and community of Sewanee and Cowan.  Please, feel free to call or email me with any questions or concerns.
