Canned Food Drive and Hunger Walk
Posted On:
Tuesday, August 08, 2017

SES students are collecting canned vegetables, fruit and peanut butter for the local food bank service provided by the Community Action Committee (CAC). As a school community, food insecurity on the mountain is a concern to us. All canned goods donated will be delivered to the CAC for immediate distribution to families in need. Receptacles for the canned goods are located in the front lobby and the primary foyer. The canned food drive ends Sept. 1.

SES students and families are also encouraged to participate in the 3rd Annual Hunger Walk sponsored by the Monteagle-Sewanee Rotary Club on Saturday, September 2 at 9am. Students are encouraged to wear their new SES T-shirts to show their school pride. Families are invited to gather at the Sewanee Angel Park just before 9am for a quick photo. All students must be accompanied by an adult.
Information about this annual walk to raise awareness about money to address food insecurity on the mountain can be found here
