For the second year in a row, Sewanee Elementary is proud to have earned the designation of Reward School by the Tennessee Department of Education.  In 2017, the Reward School designation was given to the top 5 percent of schools for performance and the top 5 percent of schools for progress. Sewanee Elementary was designated as Reward—Performance in 2017 for overall student achievement.

2018 is the first year the Tennessee Department of Education has implemented its new school accountability system. The new framework is based on multiple indicators and the premise that all schools should be able to achieve Reward status regardless of poverty rate.  Reward schools are those that are improving in terms of achievement and growth for both all students and student groups.

The staff, faculty, and administration of Sewanee Elementary would like to thank parents and our community for strong continued support for providing a quality education for all students at SES!

Director of Schools, Stanley Bean, was on hand at a recent Friday morning assembly to present the school with a special banner in recognition of the school's accomplishment.
